Speaking in Korean

Joy: Hello! I play the part of Juliette in the musical "Roméo et Juliette". I'm very proud to play this role (laugh) and very happy to be here tonight.

Damien: I play Roméo and this role is dear to me because I'm involved in this porject for a few years now. I hope you'll like it if you get the chance to see the show.

Cyril-(yelling crowd lol): My name is Cyril and I play the part of Benvolio in "Roméo et Juliette" Roméo's best friend.

Damien: And his cousin!

Cyril: And his cousin as well!

John: My name is John Eyzen and I play Mercutio in this show. As a impassioned guy of Shakespeare's literature, I'm very proud to be part of this team. Thank you for your welcome!

Damien: It's a whole new version based upon the 1st production with new songs, 3 or 4, a new setting, new costumes, new choregarphies, a new direction and with new artists, 'xept me! I think it's a great musical. We have just started the last reharsals and it's a great pleasure to play the show. We chose Seoul to set the Premiere of this tour which should last 2 years and we're very proud to share it with you for the first time.

Joy: The atmosphere is good since we started the reharsals a month ago in France (laughing).Our cosiness is amazing we all get along together very well and we all support each other because our families are far away, in France and we're all very close and we're a bit like a family of subsitution because we all miss our families. But we're very happy together! Voilà

John: Cyril told us many things about this country. Indeed! he gave us a several good adresses of restaurants, temples and so on. But above all he told us how welcoming were the people here with all the fans. As soon as we arrived at the airport in Seoul there were about thirty fans perhaps more. They gave us many gifts. They were very kind, we all were very moved. And our second contact with the fans it's today and we're happy to see that you still support us, it's a real pleasure. Thank you very much.

John: true! Korean people speak more english than french but the musical is "Roméo et Juliette" and I think that all around the world everybody knows this story, the story of these pair of lovers so I think there will be no comprehensions problems but we have to work a lot our acting parts to be understood through our emotions.

You are most welcome. Yes, I can read Chinese but will take a very long time for me to write in Chinese, so (sorry!) have to reply in English...

The date of the MBC videos should be 8 January (not 8 February) - my mistake... This was part of the publicity before the premiere in Seoul on 20 January.

Joy, Damien, Cyril and John were replying to questions from the interviewer.

R&J was performing in Korea for a total of 7 weeks and the very first performance of the new R&J production was in Seoul on 20 January. So it was very important that the show is successful in Korea, as it would decide whether the show will continue in Taiwan and the rest of Asia. That is why I think they needed a lot of publicity, interviews etc. in Korea.
